Created by Géraldine, the founder of Comme une Française, the 30-Day French Challenge is a global challenge to unite Francophiles from all over the world to improve your French and learn more about French culture. Everyone is welcome, no matter your age or your level of French.

It’s not a big commitment time or money wise. The cost to participate is just €30, and each of the activities can be done in just 10-15 minutes a day. Yet the achievement we make together in those four weeks is extraordinary.

Making learning a habit can be really difficult, especially as busy adults with homes, families, careers, travel plans, and more. But establishing this habit is key to improving your French fluency.

The 30-Day French Challenge allows you to slowly and steadily build (or rebuild) your French learning habit by encouraging you to practice your French every single day, for 30 days straight.

While the daily ‘challenge’ only takes about 15 minutes to complete, engaging in this daily habit trains your brain to start using your French more. Before you know it, your brain is actively working in French throughout the day, and this daily practice starts to turn into a full 30-day French immersion.

For those of you who are reconnecting with your French after 10, 15, even 40 years of not practicing, these 30 days of consistency allow you to easily see how much French you really remember, how much of it is still relevant, and where you still have gaps.

(For example, you may realize that using the “ne” in a French negation isn’t actually important in spoken French, no matter how much your high school teacher told you that it was!)

When you commit to something — anything! — for 30 days, it’s only natural to see results. But I also attribute a lot of the students’ success to something very specific to the 30-Day French Challenge: the sense of community.

These challenges are the one place at Comme une Française where students can get together and support each other, because it’s hosted on an interactive platform. And, of course, it means that I get to interact with you on a daily basis, which I absolutely love!

Over the last few challenges, I’ve noticed that my students LOVE to learn about the different regions of France. So, we’re going to be doing a travel theme once again, with some brand new destinations.

Over 30 days, you’re going to learn vocabulary and go-to phrases that you might use if you were planning a real visit to these regions of France.

But the things you learn are going to be useful far beyond travel. And the very best part is, everything you learn in the Challenge is going to benefit you wherever else you might work on your French in 2023: whether it’s when you’re watching French Netflix, participating at your local Alliance Française, or taking other French classes.
